Mini summary of the MapleReed AU.
A (possible) Thread.

Mapleshade is pulled out of the flooding river by Appledusk's patrol. Mapleshade's vision is somewhat blurred but she sees the blurry calico pelt of Patchkit, she reaches out for him but Appledusk throws her to her paws. Mapleshade is trembling as she is brought to RiverClan.

just like in canon, Appledusk calls the kits mistakes and confessed he's the father, Darkstar says no and does the whole "Appledusk you will have to earn our trust back" gig. Then things start to change when Reedshine comes in and acts as comfy with Apple. Mapleshade realizes-

that Reed and Apple are mates. Maple confronts him. Apple says Reed was his only true love and that she [Maple] never matter to him. Maple is furious and lashes out. Reed seems surprised and then looks at Apple. she looks betrayed. Reed asks if the kits are really his. Apple nods

Reed pushes Apple over and immediately breaks up with him. (like she should've.) Apple is confused. Darkstar says "that's enough" and banishes Maple from RiverClan. Maple is upset but leaves. Reed decides that something must be done and kills Apple. The Clan is surprised.

Dark then exiles Reed through tears. (In this Dark and Reed are related.) Reed leaves and then finds Maple still sitting by the side of the river. Reed asks if she's okay. Maple snaps and goes to attack Reed. Reed manages to calm the former queen down. Maple cries. Reed comforts.

Maple and Reed both decide to leave the Clans and become rouges/loners. Maple mentions an empty fox-den, Reed asks if Maple can take them there. Maple agrees and the two go to find the fox-den. The two she's hunt a little and then go to the den. Reed seems very tired. Maple-

ask if Reed is okay. Reed confesses that she thinks she expecting Apples kits. Maple confesses that she'd love to help raise the kits together. Reed agrees and it's not said but the two are now mates.

(END OF CHAP ONE)

Time has gone by. Reed has had the kits. Sparrow, dark brown tabby. Petal, looks like Appledusk, and Fox, a red-and-tan calico. Maple brings prey back, the kits call Maple "papa." Maple wants to take the kits outside. The kits start asking to go outside. Reed agrees.

Maple takes the kits outside. The kits play. Sparrow mentions that he smells something funny. Maple asks where. Sparrow points at a bush. Maple goes to investigate and then a mother fox jumps out. Maple fights the fox and almost loses. Reed has to go and help. The mom fox dies.

Maple thanks Reed. Reed worries. Maple dismisses Reed's worries. A small fox cub comes out of the same bush the other one came out of and then starts whimpering. Maple feels bad. Reed feels bad. Maple goes over to comfort the cub. Reed is like "wth Maple" Maple says something-

-about her own mom. Reed shows sympathy. Maple asks to take the cub back to the den. Reed says no. Maple begs. Reed finally agrees and mentions how the kits wont like it.

(END OF CHAP 2)

The fox cub, now named, Tiny, is playing with Fox. Petal and Sparrow are play fighting in the corner. Maple and Reed are cuddling while also watching the children play. Maple soon sits up and says it's time to teach Tiny how to speak cat. Reed dramatically sighs and but says OK.

Maple separates the play fight between Tiny and Fox. Fox whines and says he was about to win and Tiny says through broken words that he was winning. Maple laughs and says it's time for Tiny to go and learn some more. Fox sighs and then goes to play with Petal and Sparrow.

Maple takes Tiny outside. Tiny is well behaved but learns quiet slowly. Maple is patient.
QUOTED FROM THE FIC:
"Tiny paused, his beady amber eyes squinted into a thinking look. ''Tiny,'' Maple mewed, ''Say: 'Rabb-it''' The fox cub thought before he stuttered out. ''R-Rabbit''"

Maple congratulates him. Tiny feels proud. Maple is pleased and asks him to repeat what he had just said. Tiny does. Maple smiles. Tiny pauses and seems to be looking behind her [Maple.] Maple is confused. Tiny says "Star Cat." Maple is even more confused. Tiny describes Apple.

Maple is horrified and asks where he is. Tiny looks around and shakes his head. Maple sighs and says that training is over. Tiny nods and goes back to the den. Maple does off to do some solo-hunting. She is clearly distracted. Something catches her eyes and she looked up to see-

The starry figure of Appledusk.
QUOTED FROM THE FIC:
"Maple started with wide eyes at the starry figure above her. She didn't even need to guess who. Those familiar forest green eyes that seemed to stare into her already gave her a guess. ''A-Appledusk...?'' she mewed.-

The starry figure only nodded. only until then did she notice the fat carp that lay at his translucent paws. ''a fish?'' Appledusk bent his head down, and somehow, pushed the fish toward her. Maple felt her breath catch in her throat, Appledusk was here?!"
