WAVE IS IN LOVE WITH PANG AND THE SCENE WITH CLAIRE PROVES IT: a short thread

first, we know from claire's potential that wave is afraid of something. because he didn't seem to realize that he was afraid, i have a feeling he hadn't yet realized where the fear was coming from (i.e. he didn't realize the feelings ran so deep that they would turn to fear)

later, in the rooftop scene, it is implied that his fear is that he will lose his friends who have become very important to him

furthermore, we are lead to believe that wave fears that his friends will leave them because he caused them to fight

however, this can't be the fear that claire sensed earlier in the day because wave still believed he was right at that point. he only started to be afraid after the plan to find the imposter failed because he felt he caused them all to fight for no reason

despite this, we are still being lead to believe that wave's fear is connected to his love for his friends. but if this was why he was afraid, claire wouldn't have been so shocked when she looked at the details of his fear

even though he still tries to act aloof sometimes, he loves his friends and everyone knows it. from his motivational speeches to his sibling-like quarrels with all of them, it's not a secret how much he cares for them

being worried for your friends is completely natural, so claire wouldn't have been this shocked if that were the source of his fear (also ohm can definitely tell that something's up lol)

thus, the only logical conclusion is wave has some deeper feelings for someone, i.e. pang. i won't go into detail here, but there are countless other times in the last few episodes where it's been obvious that wave is in love *coughs*but you should trust pang*coughs*

there are a few more things i wanted to point out from ep 5. the first is that, after they argued, wave immediately followed pang into the hall. this is because wave values pang's opinion and wants the two of them to always be on the same page

we also saw how they automatically trusted each other, not a shadow of a doubt in their minds about the other being the traitor. it really is the two of them against the world :')

the second thing i wanted to point out is that wave was not at all surprised when pang showed up on the roof. he didn't even look at pang once until pang told him he wasn't heartless

the first thing pang said to wave is "what are you doing here alone?" this means that it isn't unusual for wave to be on the rooftop, but he usually goes there w someone else. in other words, the rooftop is their special place. it always has been and it always will be

also, wave's whole thing about being able to know your feelings but not admit them screams silent pining and has a super strong closeted gay vibe

all in all, i don't think they're dating yet, but wave is definitely in love with pang, and there's like a 90% chance that the feeling's mutual. thank you for coming to my ted talk

if the production company grows a pair and actually decides to make pangwave canon, my guess is that they'll reveal their feelings somewhere around episode 10, so look forward to it gays
