In short, the previous governor, Gov Brown, was on his way out of office. We filed a “commutation” meaning mercy from the governor. It was a shot in the dark. It worked. Crazy. He commuted many others too...

I got out in Jan 2019. But through Senate Bill 1437. I co founded Re:Store Justice while incarcerated, organized a team and kicked off that law. I ended up being the first person resentenced under the law my org amended...

All I can say is that’s what happens when you’re from South Central LA, get 3 strikes (but only 2nd time arrested, yeah, dirty) in the 90s, and come out in 2018. Maybe he has a different explanation lol.
