I’m a microbudget filmmaker. I don’t work with large budgets. I can’t afford to pay my cast and crews because all of the tiny budget goes toward locations, props, gear, feeding people, and distribution.

That said, here’s how I incentivize my productions for my team

A THREAD.

1) I’m upfront about the goal for the film. We are only submitting to academy award qualifying festivals in hopes to be nominated and win Best Short.

After the festival circuit we will distribute to Amazon Prime Video

2) we are shooting on weekends so that this doesn’t interfere with any existing jobs they may have during the week.

3) we are shooting on the Sony A7iii and I got a post production studio to donate color correction. This is a post house that colors super bowl spots. 4) I put together a production deck that outlines
- cast and crew
- downloadable contracts
- script breakdowns
- schedules
- distribution plan

I’m bringing the team into my entire production process, and they can use this deck as an outline for THEIR productions.

5) I work with people who reach WANT to work with me. The responses I’ve gotten :

“It’s been on my vision board to work with you one day”

“I don’t need to read the email, I would love to work with you again. Yes”

“Girl...I’ll work on ANYTHING with you, you hear me?!”

I’m a producer/director that gives the team the opportunity to OWN their roles. DP, gaffer, production designer, this is YOUR lane. Work your magic. We’re collaborating on this vision. Create something you’re proud of.

Most importantly, I create a space where my team is like family. No egos allowed. Laughter is mandatory. I have no doubt this film will be successful. I can’t wait to be with my film fam when we dominate the festival circuit and act a fool on red carpets.
