To anyone who lives in NJ and is thinking about going the DMV/ @NJ_MVC: Don’t. Not unless you absolutely have to.
People are staying overnight in the parking lot to be able to get in the next day. It’s that bad.
It opens at 8am. Everyone who arrived after 7am was sent home.

One mom arrived with her two kids around 10:30am to the @NJ_MVC in Wayne. I watched as an employee recommended she go home, telling her that to get in, people stay overnight.
She has a family and, I assume, a job. We need to do better.

For my part, I arrived at the @NJ_MVC at 6:45am, and left the line around 11am. Not worth it — and the employee kept reminding me there was no guarantee that I’d get in before the 3pm closing time.
Can we please work to change this? @NJGov @PhilMurphyNJ
I feel the worst for families who can’t take the time away from their young children or jobs to stay overnight at the @NJ_MVC to get in. They shouldn’t have to.
Maybe we can extend certain dmv-related deadlines?

P.S. @realDonaldTrump, @JoeBiden, this is a winning issue that speaks to all Americans & quality of life: reducing time spent at the DMV/MVC.
Another panorama from the @NJ_MVC in Wayne showing people wrapped around the parking lot — although, to be honest, it still only shows half the line:
