A thread on filter and gender (just my observation):
In the beginning of the performance we see Jimin walking towards a female passing mannequin and slowly incorporating elements of their outfits into his own, basically, a "blank canvas" outfit. And he's alone while doing that.
He takes off these elements before "society" (the background dancers) sees it. And they are seen making him wear a pair of sunglasses in an attempt to alter his perspective. In the "I can be your genie, how about Aladdin" part, they're seen controlling him like a marionette doll.
They're also pushing onto him elements of a traditionally masculine outfit to him. This is a black jacket. Earlier the outfit he was trying on was a white jacket. After they put the jacket on him, his dance moves are shown as being controlled by someone while using that jacket.
He is also willingly trying out that outfit but he understands that that outfit does not feel good to him either. And is seen throwing away elements of that outfit too. However he realizes that the black and white pants and shirt combo doesn't feel good to him either.
He realizes that he's not "black" like society asks him to be and he's not "white", like he felt in the beginning. Because gender expression, like colours, are on a spectrum and he's completely outside of the binary black and white. He is red from head to toe and proud of it.
