I don't really talk about it...but I'm tired.

My wife is on felony probation in Arizona, and there's only 1 place in the whole Phoenix metro that will rent to her.

Seriously.

I've tried every other place with a phone number.

And every month it's a fight to keep her housed.

The place she's lived at for the last year is basically a studio that's barely bigger than the queen sized bed that's in it. It's a literal roach motel, and it runs ~$1,500/month.

I basically gave the main office a copy of my credit card to just bill me whatever whenever.

And you would think that crazy act of trust would be enough, but it never is. Every single month they come to her door and threaten eviction because she apparently hasn't paid up.

Then I get an emergency phone call at work from my wife who's scared to tears about being...>
...booted out during a pandemic (plus being homeless is a probation violation and they WILL jail her for it).

And every month it turns into a fight with the main office because they want some kind of extra paperwork, or they upped the rate, or they're doing an eviction sweep...>
Last night I had to fill out a NEW credit authorization form even tho it was the exact same paperwork I already filled out last month, and THAT paper hadn't expired yet.

But they threatened late fees if they didn't have by start of business MST, so I was up at 2 am doing that.

I'm just so tired.

Every single month it's another fight, just to keep a roof.

Having a felony on record should not disqualify people from housing. Rental firms shouldn't be able to jack up rent just because you have a felony.

This country has no soul.
