What can I say about this? It is devastating. It is brilliant. It is beautiful. It is hard to watch. I keep watching it.
The way he goes through so many old choreography moves so fast, the rapid passage of time, the cameras. It reminds me of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Red Shoes, about a girl with enchanted dancing shoes that she is unable to take off, forced to keep dancing.
The film of the same name deals with the sacrifices demanded of artists, and passion for one’s art...do you see it too?
I’m not over this. The repetition of the thigh grab/chest pounding move over and over and over — it’s a “sexy” move the first time, and with each repetition the feeling changes. It gathers this frenetic energy that begins to feel both empty and like it could spin out of control.
I’m just amazed at how they’ve managed to convey the darkness of the shadows the members are singing about in these songs through the stages. I wonder how it feels to perform this. Does it feel like a relief, to show fans how it felt for him sometimes?
