"O Vasudev, I always stood for Hastinapur. I vowed for celibacy, I gave up my future and family so that there wont be any struggle or revolt for the throne of Hastinapur. I always gave love and protection to the sons on Pandu. I always stood for Dharmฤ, and today I am dying+
+ helplessly by the hand of Arjunฤ sleeping in this death bed of arrows, why?," Bhisma asked.

"O Kuru Srestฤ, you performed one of the greatest adharmฤs that no villian in the history of mankind ever did," Krishna replied.

"And what's that, Vฤsudev?," Bhisma asked again.
"You had both strength and power yet, you kept silence when your own daughter-in-law was being undressed in the hall filled with men," Krishna replied, "Performing injustice is indeed adharmฤ, but tolerating adharmฤ and keeping silence is even worse than that."
"If adharmฤ is agni, then tolerance and silence against it is the fuel for it. One who keeps silence against injustice is more problematic than the one who performs it," Krishna added.
