So, it's the Overwatch Grand Finals in an hour or so, and since I didn't get around to writing a primer article, I thought I'd just do a short Twitter thread to give you a brief overview of who the two finalists, @SFShock and @SeoulDynasty are and how they got here:
Last year, @SFShock was dominant. They are the returning champions and are looking to become the first team to ever win the Overwatch League twice. This season they've not been as entirely dominant as teams around them elevated their games, but they've been top tier all season.
Their team is largely unchanged, though they did lose last year's MVP, Sinatraa to Valorant. Rookie ANS. an unreal sniper, as well as best Tracer in the world Striker have stepped up though. The core of this team remains though.
What they are playing for: Becoming the first team to win two championships. Due to their core remaining largely the same, this is about making the claim, "this is the best team ever assembled in Overwatch." About establishing a Dynasty, ironic considering their opponents.
Who to watch out for:. Shock are a team. They play for each other, and while each would be a star on any other team, they are less about individual potential.

However, DPS Striker has been unreal. If he has a good day, Shock will too.
Next up @SeoulDynasty. By most accounts, they was the least likely to make it here from the final four. Seoul, while having a superteam roster, only went 12-12 in the season. However, they knocked out favorite Shanghai yesterday, only the second time they beat them this season.
Seoul, due to being the only South Korean city in the league, have always have failed potential. They've constantly disappointed, so last off-season went and picked up two of the biggest names in Overwatch competitive history, London Spitfire's Profit and Gesture.
It was looking like another season of squandered potential. The team had problems gelling and often looked mediocre in their region. However, Profit, the 2018 Grand Finals MVP, and his partner in crime, tank Gesture have a narrative of coming alive in the Playoffs.
Come alive they have. As in 2018, they have disappointed in the season but caught on fire in the Playoffs. These are two players who come to life when the pressure is on. The rest of their team is great too, but any story around this team is going to be dominated these 2.
What are they playing for: Profit and Gesture are staking their claim to be the best who have ever done it. These two have been at the absolute pinnacle of Overwatch since before the Overwatch League, with amazing runs in the precursor APEX series.

If they win, it's undisputed.
Who to watch: It's hard to know who to pick out of the two, as Gesture on the in-meta hog is something to really behold.

It has to be Profit though. He's possibly the greatest DPS to ever live, with an unfair depth to his pool. He's looking to make history. Honestly, I hope so.
So, coverage starts here in about 15 minutes! I'm going to jump in. If you like anything Overwatch, you should too. This is going to be historic one way or another.
