/n: As a child, a big blindspot in my personality made me miss the Harry Potter bus. Every child I knew around me who read books was going crazy about them and I thought that the hype was too much. 20 years hence, my partner re-introduced me to these books and I am so thankful.
/n: I finished the Harry Potter series last week, having read all the 7 books over 2 months. It has been a long time coming, and the journey has been insane. Here are some of the things I absolutely loved in the books:
/n: JKR's storytelling is legendary. Everything connects with everything. She seamlessly drops so many plot points and builds on them as she keeps going. The thought process behind the narrative is extremely meticulous.
/n: Love how she gives colour to characters. There are so many examples- Neville, Hagrid, Hermoine, Ron, Ginny, Dumbledore and most importantly Snape. Even though this series is named after Harry, it is not just about the 'boy who lived'. Every character is pivotal.
/n: This series is such a mature way to break difficult concepts to children and young adults. Right from breaking down gender differences to talking about morality, the greyness of human character, and the ability of human beings to redeem themselves, it doesn't shy away.
/n: As someone who is fascinated with the rapid fall of journalism into the pits, its fascinating to watch JKR's imagery of Rita Skeeter and the Daily Prophet. The news houses of today are headed by Rita Skeeters, driven by sensationalism, devoid of ethics.
/n: This thread doesn't come anyway near how many emotions this series evoked in me. There is so much to write about. Should be made a must-read! @BooksonT @Books_at_Bahri
