Aged Care Commissioner - Thread

I don’t know if it’s my ADHD or there’s just a lotta news out-thanks KRudd-but again I did none of the topics I said.

Did you know we have an Aged Care Commissioner? Her name is Janet Anderson. I have seen no Kill Cards of her?

Janet earns a base salary of $500,000 pa. There is a healthy “bonus” scheme, 15.4% super & more than 40 days of leave available every year. Because it’s a big job. Janet is in charge of all of the quality assessments of Aged Care Homes.

They are the only commission that completes these quality inspections. There is no doubt Vic had a quarantine problem, right? But once it got into the aged care homes? 646 deaths. It gets so so much worse.

Nearly half of the Aged Care deaths in Victoria can be attributed to 10 main Aged Care Homes. All of these 10 homes achieved either perfect or near perfect assessments of the facilities. The assessments last for 3 years!!!! So if they’re assessed in 2018, it lasts until 2021?

Estia Health Ardeer & Keillor Downs had 238 cases between them. Both these facilities are among the top 5 hardest hit by covid. After two staff and a resident tested positive for covid in August, families complained that there was delay in testing & Estia blamed it on DHHS.

The positive staff members were stood down. (That means sacked doesn’t it?) Estia also claims the checklist provided by DHHS does not give a deadline of testing in case of infection (FFS! Just go with immediately!) Estia operate 27 Aged Care homes across Vic.

Kerry Stokes, the owner of Seven Media Network, holds a $100million stake in Estia. Stokes also quarantined at home after a trip to Aspen (it’s a Petrie dish, that Aspen) bypassing the official guidelines which was never investigated.

The Estia homes caught up in the Covid Cases all met or exceeded the 44 requirements in their last inspection/assessment. Met them all!! If my parents were caught up in this, I would like the incredibly well paid Janet to defend her position. More than the Minister for Police.
