I think the thing that really bothers me about Medusa as a symbol here is that culturally we are already super bad at recognizing that rape isn't about attraction it's about power

People like to respond to this like me, the guy who was literally told I should be grateful I was raped because I'm fat and I should take what I can get, should be happy whenever I see that "raped because you're beautiful and it makes you ugly" myth held up as empowering
