First and foremost, it& #39;s important to respect people& #39;s autonomy on principle. Assuming it is between consenting adults.
Secondly, we can understand this, as well as recognize that many turn to sw out of material need. This
can lead to negative images of sex work as it is currently an industry run by capitalists. In fact, I would say this industry is the most vulnerable to capitalist exploitation. Since this line of work is illegal, as well as being a service with a large labor pool, it makes it
particularly difficult to unionise. It is then no wonder that the worst forms of exploitation take place when workers do not even have the protection of bourgeois laws. Capitalists being allowed free reign, other forms of oppression are exentuated. Even now, the sw industry still
rears the old head patriarchy, as it has historically. Though sw is not limited to women, it is often the women, especially women of color and lgbtq women, that are subject to abuse and domestic violence.
Now when people talk about "sex work under communism", the analysis
Now when people talk about "sex work under communism", the analysis
becomes a little more nuanced. Since post-scarcity is achieved, it ceases to be "work", at least, not in the sense that we would think of it. So let& #39;s say somebody just wants to have a lot of sex and dedicates a lot of time to it, functionally it would be "sex work" the way we
understand it. To this person though, their material needs are already met, we may not know exactly what motivates them to have so many notches on the bed post, but intuition would tell us they find it be quite "fulfilling".
It is in fact Capitalism that steals people& #39;s dignity, not the work itself. If you want society to heal from the ailments of a hypersexual culture, you have to treat people with dignity first.
