Here are 5 ways on how to manage and reduce stress as a lawyer.

1. Develop connections and a reliable support network. Build and maintain healthy relationships with friends, spouses and family.
2. Get enough sleep. Poor sleep is connected to mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
3. Practise fun hobbies. A hobby lets you unwind from daily , professional routines. Spending time on an activity that you enjoy can improve your mental health and wellbeing.
4. Identify your emotional triggers. Understand how certain people, things and environments influence how you feel.
5. Ask for help. When you have a lot on your plate, request some assistance from your colleagues . Make sure to return the favour the next time your colleague is feeling overwhelmed.
All in all, know that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Your mental health should never take a back seat. Take care of yourself first.
