I suggest you read the work from Black leftists, who have grappled with this for generations. You do not magically “take from the rich” when this inequality is steeped in white supremacy. The inequality *depends* on Black subjugation. I’ll forward something I read when I find it https://twitter.com/halljaredc1/status/1314665688531980290
Suffice to say, as someone else mentioned, there isn’t federal political will to help the poor/working class of any race, and neither of the capitalists running the 2-party system will for a while.
So whatever “universal” programs we have will probs have to be state/local anyway. Organize accordingly.
Sidenote, if the thread begins with a post about reading Black leftists, do not come in here simply operating from your own theories about how things should and could be. The whole point is that people have dissected how things work, in practice +
And it’s irresponsible for anyone who aligns with the left to ignore history and seminal works from and about scholars and activists of color if you wish to actually advance socialism or even center-left progressive policies in countries exploited by the U.S. and Western Europe.
And if you don’t have time to read whole books, wikipedia is free. That’s better than saying something as obtuse as “Du Bois was wrong about reconstruction” 🥴
