I just want to explain some things that probably don't make sense to you. Ok so first the cat was Celestes's cat, Nekonekomaru has nothing to do with Nekomaru Nidai, It is just a given Demon name the children gave him. Part 2
Also after this series is done, before starting V3, you should watch Danganronpa 3. It is an anime and I understand if you can't film your reaction to it (you can watch it in your spare time). part3
There is two arc for this anime, the FUTURE arc and the DESPAIR arc. These two anime's should be watched in interval so you start with episode 1 of FUTURE arc and after that you watch the 1 episode of DESPAIR arc. Part4
It is really important to watch in that order only or else things just won't make sense. So in short like this ABABABAB. The future arc tells us the story of the future foundation and you'll see AOI. The despair arc talk about Hopes peak when it was still peaceful. Part5
