Last thing I’ll comment: my family and 11 million+ others did not perish at Auschwitz, at Buchenwald, at Dachau, at Bergen-Belsen, at Kauen, at Krakow, at Sachsenhausen, and countless other camps for you to make jokes. They did not leave this Earth for the purpose of a joke.

They will not go on as the brunt of your jokes, they will not be subject to your continued dehumanization, we don’t forget so you can laugh, there’s nothing funny about their deaths, they were victims of fascism, or being treated as less than human.

They were lied to, stripped of their humanity for years and then shipped off to labor camps where they were either killed on the spot, gassed in what they thought were showers, or shot in the back and thrown in a pile of bodies, some were even burned alive.

They didn’t starve for you to make fun of them, they didn’t have to work in the crematoriums or the gas chambers involuntarily before being brutally murdered for you to have some fun.

We spend Yom HaShoah remembering their pain, their suffering, and their strength as well. May their souls rest and Hashem let them know peace, and may you who joke on their suffering rot for eternity in the deepest depths of a fire filled hell.
