Because i’m literally one boss fight left away to reach the final boss and im still stuck on said boss fight im gonna have to give out my opinions on xcde, this entire thread is full of spoilers so get out of this post, yet im a spoiler posting account anyways but still a warning
Much like the original it’s way difficult and longer than xc2, and the combat doesn’t feel engaging, here i thought xc2 had the worst party member ai but MAN xcde changed my mind so quickly, for now im gonna talk about the story and the characters first and then the gameplay
Xcde gave me a reason to revisit xc1’s story and man its why longer than xc2, when i played the original i felt xc2 was longer but xcde made me realize it was actually the polar opposite, I thought the antagonists were great and threatening but yeeeaaahh they didn’t age well
For instance mumkhar
He literally became a villain for no reason, I thought he was affected by egil when he became metal face but no, apparently the bastard has always been like this, which means xord is the better mechon face antagonist yet had very little screen time

Egil feels a bit weak at times when it comes to his character & my opinion on zanza hasn’t changed, they just made him look hotter than in the original because nobody looks like they come from a gamecube game anymore (ironic since some gamecube games looked better than wii games)

He’s the only antagonist I actually enjoyed because i liked him & even when he was a traitor the whole time he still felt like a mentor shulk never had to me & man his death scene still tears me up

Half of my opinions over the party actually changed, I thought sharla was the weakest character but MAN DUNBAN IS WEAKER THAN HER, i hated riki at first because ofc i hate nopon & he felt like a shittier tora but he proved to me that characters don’t need development to be good
I honestly didn’t care about shulk he just seems a bit attractive this time at least, i was surprised to actually like reyn this time because i saw him as a joke of a character but his development was actually pretty great
IM SO GLAD THEY FINALLY MADE TYREA & MELIA LOOK SO MUCH BETTER THAN IN THE ORIGINAL THEY HAD THE BEST GLOW UP BECAUSE HOLY SHIT THEY WERE THE MOST UGLIEST CHARACTERS IN THE GAME BY FAR
