In times like these, a creator showing support for his fandom's creations is not only rare, but unheard of. So many big fandoms are known for queerbaiting and showrunners belittling their fanbases creative works - I've been part of those fandoms. +
I previously come from a fandom where people eat eachother alive for anything & everything. Shipshaming & infighting is rampant and I've been guilty of it too(& for that I apologize to everyone who was hurt by my actions specifically) Nobody in that fandom escapes unscathed. +
With that said - those experiences have shaped who I am in this new fandom, and I'm so tired yall. So tired of people attacking creators. And frankly I'm tired of showrunners who aren't appreciative to the fanbase that keeps their show alive which is why I'm baffled by how +
People react to Bryan defending fan artists from attacks. Ive been in fandom my whole 29 yr old life. Sometimes quietly, sometimes loudly. Harry Potter, Sherlock, Doctor Who, SPN. I have NEVER seen a showrunner defend fans as fiercely as Bryan does and I feel like some of yall- +
Especially the younger, very biased fans don't understand what a LUXURY it is to have someone like @BryanFuller who engages with fans and encourages fanworks. After a lifetime of having ALL fanworks no matter the content be considered taboo - this is a breath of fresh air. +

Listen to Bryan. Maybe take a look at yourself and see where the indignation you consider righteous is coming from - im sure a lot of antis intentions are coming from a mostly good intented place of shock and upset but trust me, darkfic creators are NOT the enemy. +
Focus your energy on actual predators. And while we're at it, Im reminding yall that using fiction to cope IS a valid thing and while you're perfectly at liberty to find something someone creates distasteful you gotta remember that the person behind the screen is a human being. +
I've been rambling for a while but my final point is that through my years in fandom, Ive never seen people this up in arms over something that is almost completely nonexistent in this particular fandom. I think that a lot of the people who subscribe to the anti mentality could +
Benefit from introspection. Ask yourself if you'd like to be in a fandom where it's war all the time & the showrunners make fun of you constantly, or would you rather find acceptance from both your fellow fans AND cast/crew?

Because the Hannibal fandom will offer you the latter.
