-Admitting to stealing city money
-30+ police reports in a 5 year span
-Calling his council president a c*ck
-Telling a resident to give him a f**king break
-Trying to "cover his ass" directing city bids

& Davis told me to ask better questions?? https://bit.ly/3jXvBQw
Let's begin.
How did this all start?
In 2018, Tonawanda's common council was concerned about Davis's actions. Instead of going to police it formed an ethics committee. Here's the letter detailing eight (8) complaints against Davis for the committee to investigate.
Davis denied multiple times this committee was formed to look into him. Yet, he tried to VETO the formation of this ethics committee.
We asked why.
He said he's by the book and the charter says no.
By the book?
Even when it comes to the social media policy?
(language warning)
Davis admitted to stealing nearly $600 taxpayer money by buying his girlfriend a plane ticket to DC then tried to justify it by saying it was paid back -- that doesn't matter.
It's illegal. Also -- the treasurer had to ask for months for him to return all of the money.
Davis defended his actions on the credit cards, but entirely denied he was allegedly caught on tape telling a resident who was very upset about a City action to "give me a f*ing break over a f*ing tree." Denied he said it. But then destroyed a tape with him saying it....
A bid for a 2018 project to renovate a city building went to his brother.
The building inspector lied on the recommendation form about the valid # of bids.
His assistant also admitted to making handwritten adjustments which made Davis's brother's company the low/winning bid.
Again, important note here -- our legal analyst @FlorinaLaw says that nepotism isn't forbidden by law but it's poor government practice.
"Certainly an element of government corruption," she said.
Years before he was elected mayor, Davis was a councilman. Even way back then he was accused of trying to influence bids by the mayor at the time, publicly.
He did NOT like when we asked him about that and he told us to leave at this point.
Mind you -- the Mayor that accused Davis of corruption sat on the ethics committee that looked into him.
Let me drop the bomb here in the middle: the ethics committee looked at all of this and **cleared** Davis of any wrongdoing. Here is the letter they sent:
This all happened quietly in 2018. It took them two months to investigate and find no wrongdoing. It took us three months to investigate and find quite a bit off.
We also learned @DAErieCountyNY John Flynn has someone looking into a complaint related to our I-Team's findings.
Not done yet. I skipped some parts of the story. I received THOUSANDS of emails between him and his common council president where he was constantly rude and demeaning. In one exchange, which he thought was 'funny' he called her a cock.
Now, I didn't include this in my story, but I spoke with Davis's ex-wife, Kimberly after some sources shared information they feel was buried.
He clearly didn't read the piece before he took to social media to attack her character. He says people know the truth. Here's some:
I share those photos with permission at the request of Kim. She said she found out he was having an affair with his current wife and things went downhill, she claims police covered for him and left her unprotected, and her kids were taken from her. Here's the story in her words.
Kim also wanted to share this message with women who are being hurt and live in fear of retaliation.
This month is domestic violence awareness month. If you live in Erie County, this number is available 24/7
716-862-HELP.
Davis denies all allegations of assault or violence against his ex-wife.
We got 33 police police reports involving Davis in a five year period from 2015-present but *three separate sources* suggested it’s what we *don’t* have that is the problem.
Police source claims there are reports that can't be found.
Davis was pissed when we asked him about it.
Davis says since the ethics committee (which he tried to prevent from being created) cleared him -- he did nothing wrong. We now wait to see whether the DA will open an investigation into the complaint his office has on Davis and whether he will agree with the body's findings.
