It’s been 4 miserable days since my positive #Covid test. The woman who called me up today from the tracing people was, well, oh my gosh, it was so dreadful. Here’s the highlights:
She wanted to know what my isolation plan was.
Me : continue to stay in bed, and get better, as I feel really very unwell.
(This should have been pretty obvious because I couldn’t finish a sentence without heaving coughing)
Reply ‘So you have no plan then?
Me: Ermmmmm?

Her: we want people to have an exercise plan, get moving, get outside
Me: ?????!!!!!
Me: ?????!!!!!
We moved onto length of isolation.
She spread doubt and confusion as to whether isolation was 10 days from test or 10 days from symptoms. Bear in mind she was presumably phoning to offer clarity.

She then told me I had to isolate for up to 10 days
Me : No!!!!! Not up to. It’s 10 full days. Do not say ‘up to’. Never say that. Do not ever say that to anyone you call. Ever. Just no.

Nice lady, but not sufficiently trained. I can say with absolute confidence that this phone call was a total waste of time and money today.
