WA State has had a striking number of NEW voter registrations this year.

Since WA is a sanctuary state, that gives driver’s licenses (that can be used to register to vote) to non-citizens, I feel it’s important to keep a close eye on voter registration data.
According to WA’s Secretary of State’s office, as of 10/01/20, WA currently has 4,722,683 adults registered to vote.

As of July 1, 2019, WA state had an estimated population of 7,797,100 people.

Of those 7.8 million people, it is estimated that 5,661,460 are adults.
As of 2019, there were an estimated 599,598 non-citizens reported as residing in WA state.

In 2018, roughly 6% of immigrants (citizens & non-citizens) in WA were children (65k out of 1.1 million).

If applied to the 2019 non-citizen estimates, roughly 563,623 of the adults in WA are non-citizens (and therefore ineligible to vote).
This leaves use with around 5,097,837 adult citizens in WA.
In WA, In 2018, WA had roughly 19,408 people in prisons, 12,150 in jails, 76,349 on probation, and 11,663 out on parole.

Since we cannot tell how many are convicted felons, I will use 50% of the total for our estimation which is ~59,783.

This leaves us with around 5,038,054 adult citizens in WA who are not ineligible to vote because of being under Department of Corrections supervision for a felony conviction.

This means that 4,722,683 registered voters is roughly 93% of our eligible voting population.
