A few months ago I was trying to work out whether I wanted to get baptised, and what it meant to me, and why - and so in pure Jay Style I spent days walking from church to church, praying in each one for answers. I visited over a dozen over the space of about three or four days.
I just got a very nice vibe from one of the churches I visited during that little tour, and returned, a few days later, accidentally stumbling upon a service in progress. After it had finished, the priest came over and asked if I wanted to chat later that afternoon.
I returned, and we sat and just... Talked. For over an hour. About baptism. Queer theology. My own faith. What it all meant.

At the end he went to the shelf at the back of the church and gave me a tattered old Book of Common Prayer.

It's sat by my bed ever since.
I write this thread because, as I finalise preparations for my baptism, I want to write, to thank him, and let him know that - mostly thanks to that conversation - I worked it out.

I've just got to work out what to say. I am, surprisingly, not that good at writing letters.
