Since our first wave is on shelves, here's a quick THREAD of some of the process that goes into making Halo figures!

First I’ll focus on our 6.5” Spartan Collection figures.

So first off, what’s the difference between our “World of Halo” and our “Spartan Collection” figures?

1. “World of Halo” is fully in-scale. So Spartans are taller than Marines, Non-Human species are actually rendered in-scale, etc.

2. On the flip side, despite how detailed our “World of Halo” figs are there's even more detail on Spartan Collection figures + more articulation for posing, interchangeable hands, and sidearms.

Honestly they’re both good, so ‘collect ‘em all?’

The Spartan Collection figures were designed by a handful of very talented folk, Miguel Nash, Jesse Hensley, Sandro Lopez & Tyrone Keyes.

Before doing anything, each designer and I fully immersed ourselves in all-things Halo to ensure that every idea we came up with felt right.
Yes, a part of that process was going to Outpost Discovery and yes, I wrecked absolute hell at the VR game.

MOVING ON
While conceptualizing the first wave, we had to create a core philosophy for the Spartan Collection.

What were we going to bring to the table to separate ourselves from the Toy biz greats who previously handled Halo?

Here’s what we focused on:

- Articulation - Mjolnir armor isn’t skin-tight but these Spartans gotta be able to pose!

- Visual Detail - Chrome Visors, Interchangeable Hands and Helmets, Weapon Pegs, Multiple Weapons

..We really pushed it for $20 figs

There’s a lot I can’t say about the process, but figure design starts much like all other production-based works, by reviewing art and references.

Here’s some public facing concept art of the GEN1 MK. VII Mjolnir Armor by Isaac Hannaford alongside our MK. VII fig.

Not bad huh?
Moving on, I assist with things like choosing armor colors, weapon load outs, placement, and other details. Some teams make this a one person job, but product always comes out better if all involved members of the team have creative input.

After finalizing our philosophy, approach, and plan for each figure, we finally get things started.

Then, after REDACTED, REDACTED, and a little bit of REDACTED, we’re on shelves! (I can only share so much 😉)
