ooh
1) Jamala - Обещание

so I was listening to the entirety of Подих in class the other day and when I tell you I sobbed,,, an underrated masterpiece dare I say
2) ODESZA - Thin Floors And Tall Ceilings

I somehow associate this with a friend I made years ago but to this day I wish to reach out to her once again bc we drifted apart so suddenly, and there's just smth abt this feeling in the song too
3) Vivienne Mort - Іній

basically one of the many songs that got me hooked to the Ukrainian music scene til this day, and I'm glad Vidbir happened to be the platform for it and it's just,,, masterful
4) Madeon - Pixel Empire

Madeon was one of the artists that really defined my music taste a few years ago, and although I don't listen to his music as much as I did back then, I'm still glad I introduced myself to this
5) Koloah - Nightcrawler

when I heard that Jamala was collabing with him, I was genuinely intrigued as to how this will turn out, and eventually I basically introduced myself to an artist I love bc of how otherworldly the general sound is
6) Jamala - The Great Pretender

now this is a song that somehow put quite an impact on me (and especially the MV) and I'm not even sure why, but it really did that
7) TseSho - Hate

idk how to explain but this song really got me into appreciating contemporary art as a whole, also I'll never forgive them being robbed in Vidbir idc
8) Porter Robinson - Goodbye To A World

so there was a time I was *really* hooked on this and now that I look back it's really as amazing as I remember
9) LVNA - Here's Not Here

I had a phase where I was actively looking for some rather obscure Ukrainian music and this song most definitely defined said phase
10) Michael Kiwanuka - Cold Little Heart

I literally just this morning got myself into listening to this (brought by Jamala talking abt her fave OSTs) and I think this will be stuck to me for a long time,,, I'm a fan already
11) alyona alyona - Рибки

the way I got to stan her since this blew up somehow and back then I genuinely thought this is just gonna be a one-off and she won't become that famous??? now I'm glad I was proven wrong tbh
12) Jamala - Заманили feat. DakhaBrakha (Morphom Version)

oh yeah did I mention I stan Jamala
this song really became a defining part of my music taste when it was released and I feel it's not gonna leave this status any time soon
13) Dzelzs Vilks - Balerīna

I accidentally reminded myself this song exists and this really unlocked a lot of memories and now I'm hooked again
14) Morphom - Road

this was a part of yet another phase but I still stan bc of how much it slaps
15) Astro'n'out - Daļa Rīgas

oh and speaking of Latvian songs unlocking memories deep from crevices of my brain, this sure has the most of them
16) A Stillness In The Rain (Stardew Valley OST)

I don't have much to say abt it but SDV in general means so much to me
17) Amaranth's Bane (Wayward Souls OST)

for a while I was genuinely invested in playing Wayward Souls (back when it was solely a mobile game and the release of a PC version was just planned) and this is still one of my fave tracks from the game
18) Gesaffelstein - OPR

this song is what got me hooked on one of my fave non-ESC artists til this day, and it hasn't aged one bit tbh
19) AWS - Viszlát Nyár

this song was one of the many defining moments of my whole period of being a eurofan, and it's glorious
20) Jamala - 1944

honestly how could I not mention THE song - the one that defined my time on the eurofandom the most, the one that introduced me to an artist I'll be eternally thankful for,,, I could go on
21) The Erised - Ouu

the way I was a whole The Erised stan in like 2018 (and I'm still sad they split bc goddamn their music slaps) and the entire EP just hit me hard
22) Kazka - Запала

ok so p much the same time the EP by The Erised came out, Kazka released their first album too and boy I was living
and this is still my fave track from said album
23) Jamala - Натовп

but what really made my 2018 was when Jamala released an album as well and this song honestly hasn't aged and it still feels like it came out like last year or so
24) Jamala & alyona alyona - Забирай

this is probably the thing I was looking forward to most since like the beginning of 2019
also maybe Jamala had immense impact on me in general which is why you're gonna see lots of her in this thread
