Important facts about the terrorist militia #MichiganPlot:

(1) 13 indictments and it sounds like a significant number of others were involved. This is a network, not a cell of a couple random extremists.

(2) Wolverine Watchmen is part of the #BoogalooBoys
(3) Yes, the militia followed "far-right" narratives, such as hoping to spark an armed revolution against the government and "create a society that followed the US Bill of Rights."
(4) However, one terrorist conspirator is an #Antifa-type anarchist. And the "far-right"' group's anti-police agenda is arguably influenced by "far-left" anti-police rhetoric.
(5) The #Michigan plot's ideology was partially produced by the hyper-partisan demonization factories that poison our country.

Exhibit A: The left-friendly media & influencers focusing on the "right-wing" element of the plot & the right-wing focusing on the "left-wing" element.
(6) The delineations between "far-left terrorism" and "far-right terrorism" are very blurry, usually nonsensical, and unnecessarily polarizing.

Best to discard them in favor of language that is more precise and allows more nuance.
(7) So what brought together "far-right" Boogaloo-types & the "far-left" anarchist Antifa-type terrorist for #Michiganplot?

Overlaps in how they view today's political picture; a picture painted by revolutionary, inflammatory rhetoric that appeals to our populist environment.
(8) What does #MichiganPlot tell us about the extremist threat?

The threat is "The War of the Extremes."

It manifests as a cornucopia of extremist ideologies, all simultaneously in opposition to each other, while thriving from each other's success.
