I've had several PHL people express their interest in holding on to the mail-in ballots they received so they can take them (along with the envelopes) to their polling place in person and have them voided so they can vote in person on a machine. It will be possible to do so! BUT:
I'm concerned about a couple of things here. I don't know yet what is involved in voiding a mail-in on the paperwork side. Hopefully it isn't particularly time-consuming for pollworkers & voters, & we'll be issued enough affirmations to let everyone who needs to do this to do so.
But it still means more voters in line at the polling place. More voters means everyone waits longer to vote, which could mean disenfranchisement for those who can't afford to stick around. More voters also increases the chance somebody gets sick.
I know people have an interest in making sure their votes count on Election Night. I can't promise that with a mail-in, but I promise it will count in the end (remember the privacy envelope, though!). #putthejawninthejawninthejawn
I've cast and returned my mail-in, and if you're looking for my opinion, that's what you should do too. But please vote the way that makes you the most comfortable.
As of today there are eight Philadelphia offices to drop off your ballot, with another opening on Tuesday.

Hours at all locations:
Monday–Thursday, 11:30AM to 6:30PM
Friday–Sunday, 9:30AM to 4:30PM
Just announced: two 24-hour locations for mail-in ballot dropoffs, available through 8PM on Election Day. https://twitter.com/Commish_Schmidt/status/1314632017447997440
Reminder that at the satellite commissioners offices in Philadelphia, any adult U.S. citizen can do ANY or ALL of the following:

• change their registration (if moved or name change)
• sign up and receive a mail-in ballot
• return a mail-in ballot
Last day to register to vote/change your registration is Oct 19. Last day to get a mail-in ballot is Oct 27. Offices will be open through Election Day, Nov 3, to accept your mail-in ballots (& that's where you'll have to take them if you aren't mailing, NOT your polling place).
