To all my new followers, Welcome! At http://theoryofenchantment.com , we give out a free resource on how to practice compassionate anti-racism, which is a training that's rooted in social emotional learning and based on the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sign up!
In the training we offer our clients a full six-week 25 lesson course; our training is based on the study of the psychological conditions that drive racism in the first place. We know that scarcity is for more likely in an environment where scarcity is rampant.
The way racism develops is pretty predictable.

Insecurity (both material & psychological) + self-contempt + overcompensation for self contempt = Supremacist Ideologies aka Racism

The key is to create those conditions in the workplace where insecurity won't flourish.
This requires systemic work. A person cannot love another human being or treat another human being with the dignity they deserve if they do not love themselves.
James Baldwin said as much in 'The Fire Next Time':

“White people in this country will have quite enough to do in learning how to accept & love themselves and each other, & when they have achieved this…the Negro problem will no longer exist, for it will no longer be needed.”
This is why Robin DiAngelo's model of "white fragility" will not work and creates the conditions that undermine the vision of society she claims to seek. And this isn't complicated. Again, when you create scarcity/insecurity, you make racism more likely, not less.
At any rate, in the first part of our training, we teach you first how to make peace *with yourself* as an individual. And all human beings encounter the same kinds of challenges, including insecurity, imperfection, parental baggage, mortality, etc. You must make peace with it.
Once you make peace with it, you will be able to develop a capacity for empathy, compassion, etc. for your fellow human. You will naturally want to create inclusive spaces because the lens through which you see the world will be driven by openness, not by fear or cynicism.
The theory of Enchantment is a process that totally transforms the nature of your relationship with yourself and thus with the world around you. And you'll have fun because we use pop culture to deliver lots of the teachings. There's James Baldwin & there's also Kendrick Lamar.
As you can imagine my team and I have lots of fun delivering the content and look forward to working with as many of you as possible. Cheers and have a great weekend! (And check out our latest.)
