We are the only generation of Nigerians that haven’t enjoyed this country at all. We have no good stories to tell.

If you talk with older Nigerians, you often hear them speak of “the good old days”, of a time where “things were good”, “when Nigeria worked”. They reminisce with almost palpable nostalgia about their youth, not because they were morally upright than us or even better than us.

They were just lucky to belong to the generation the British had just handed over power to. Young, energetic and vibrant - how they still managed to run this country aground despite all the opportunities and wealth is simply unforgivable.

They are and have always been our biggest problem.
