In episode 2 of #LouderThanARiot, we look at the come-up of Mac Phipps.

Before his No Limit days, Mac was a local rap phenom. Here’s some of his early heat before he got recruited by the tank. (THREAD)
Mac was a rap prodigy. His song “I Need Wheels” from 1990 had juvenile raps on lock before Kriss Kross. /2
His first album, “The Lyrical Midget” was produced by @manniefresh. /3
Just a few years later, Mac leveled up.

Even though New Orleans was all about bounce in the mid-90s, Mac and his Psycho Ward clique were some East Coast heads. /4
And on the standalone joint “Mad Or Jealous,” Mac linked up with Psycho Ward’s Storm. Mac has said they had plans to drop a full album… but it never got released. /5
If you ask one of Mac’s biggest fans @Dee1music, he could talk about Mac’s discography all day: “Mac was kinda like New Orleans’ version of Nas.”
