You'd go to @PoliceNG to make a report, and the thieves will ask you for money to 'open a report". Money to "manage the case", "money to assess the offence", "money for fuel", "money for sorting", "money to kill the matter". Money. Money. Money. #EndPoliceBrutality
Youths can't carry laptops around for fear of harassment; if you look good, trouble. Smell nice, trouble. If you simply mind your business, TROUBLE! Money is their language, brute force their tool of communication. No commonsense. Just plain evil. #EndSarsNow
If a soup is good, you can keep warming (reforming) it up for consumption. If it's rotten, it's futile to warm it & bad for consumption. #SARS is rotten. It must go. #EndSARS.
In 2016, I was with a friend in his car when we were flagged down around Games Village Roundabout. The officers were genuinely sad all our affairs & the car papers were intact/order. Still, they insisted on checking the boot-
Please read this.*
They insisted he stayed inside & open it from within. Per young lawyer, I was sprouting legal jargons at them, they didn't pay mind & even said we are all "the Law- police & lawyers", and asked if I wanted to teach them their jobs. Ok, we let two of them go check the boot while-
-we remained in the car. Then they asked us to go.
My friend drove further down, & curved out of their view, slowed down, parked & we both got out to check the booth. Look, we didn't agree to do this, we just KNEW to. And alas! We found a bullet shell tugged under the mat in-
-the booth. We threw it out & got on our way. It wasn't until we were flagged down again with so much enthusiasm just before CITEC that we got the whole picture. I suddenly remembered we told the officers we we were going to (Lugbe), & they had given descriptions of our car-
-and its occupants to these other officers along CITEC. I noticed one talking into a walkie-talkie while looking intently at us. Another promptly walked to the booth, asked us to come down & open it. We did. Honestly I was scared 'cos I wondered if we had taken out all that was-
-planted there OBVIOUSLY by those other officers. They sha searched frantically, & when they found nothing, they got pissed & started being belligerent. I brought my phone out to call my Principal Partner and one of them said he'd shoot me that I was calling for back-up, -
-back-up for what? The officer on the walkie-talkie kept talking into it heatedly, they searched the car again, and my friend & I followed them round the car, never taking our eyes off. Then they asked us to go- you could see the disappointment on their faces. #EndSARS
I came down around Dantata Bridge, I couldn't continue the trip to the mall in Lugbe. I took a cab back home, laid back & cussed the whole sham called @PoliceNG. They're a plague.
