Just filled out my first-ever California ballot...but spent quite a bit of time reading up on all the propositions. If you haven’t figured out exactly how you’re voting on each of them, here’s a BRIEF thread of some reading material you might want to consider.
1. The LATimes has an Endorsements page from its Editorial Board. Short of just their opinions, they also link to short form videos about each initiative that are explained well. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2020-09-09/la-times-endorsements-november-2020-election-trump-biden%3F_amp%3Dtrue
2. The @ACLU_SoCal has their own explanations for the ballot initiatives, some of which differ from progressive voter guides based on their experience litigating. I found this perspective helpful to weigh! https://www.aclusocal.org/en/2020ballotguide
Then there was @KNOCKdotLA’s Progressive Voter Guide, which was super helpful in explaining and calling out the folks behind the initiatives...scary stuff! https://knock-la.com/los-angeles-progressive-voter-guide-november-general-election-2020-fe6e286b3feb?gi=d839f2d9c1a9
And lastly, I consulted Progressive Voter Guide. This seems to be the most popular one among my network, at least! https://progressivevotersguide.com/california/2020/general/about
