A thread on what’s happening in Nigeria at the moment 🇳🇬

Kindly RT aggressively to educate those in the blind #EndSARS #EndSarsProtests #EndPoliceBrutality
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is a unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

Over the years, there have been public records of SARS units committing acts of corruption and malpractice across the country.

Despite this, the Nigerian government has failed to take action.
SARS units across Nigeria have been unlawfully arresting and detaining young people across the country - kidnapping, murdering, stealing and extorting money from them and their family members.
Many young people have shared their stories of police brutality here on Twitter.

On Wednesday, young people in Lagos took to the streets and
began protesting for the end of SARS, the end of injustice and the end of death at the hands of Nigerian Police.
Nigerian youth in Abuja, Ibadan,
Benin, Delta and other cities across the country have also taken to the streets to demand for change and the total disbandment of the SARS police unit.
Although the Nigerian House of Assembly has called on the Nigerian government to disband SARS police unit, the youth of Nigeria still
ask for our solidarity and support until action is taken.
Make sure to repost & share news about the protests using the hastag #ENDSARS so that international pressure can further push
the governement to do the right thing and save the lives of the young people in Nigeria.
