Sex and marriage are provisional goods which were always intended to end. They were given to humans for purposes which, once fulfilled, would lead to sex and marriage passing away. Celibacy is an anticipation of the life to come, when both sex and marriage are no more.
God gave humans sex and marriage as signs to teach us about the kind of communion that will exist between God and his people/Christ and his Church in the resurrection (Ephesians 5:32). When the full reality comes, the signs themselves fade away (Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25)
God also gave humans sex and marriage in anticipation of the fall, after which sin and death could threaten our extinction. When sin and death are defeated once and for all, sex and marriage will disappear as well (Revelation 20:14, 21:4, Luke 20:35-36)
Celibacy, therefore, is the state of life of all people in the resurrection; we will experience union with Christ that fulfills the signs of sex and marriage (Revelation 19:6-9, 21:1-4), and yet the signs themselves will fall away.

Celibacy is celestial: the heavenly life.
