White folks I don’t think you understand the culture in the Black community around voting.

We bled on the Pettus Bridge for your right to vote. We are the ones who created the voting rights act. Remember? We still attend polling places where we are hassled and wait for up to 8 hours. Every. Election. We are the ones who warned you when the did away with VRA.

We are the ones who took multiple IQ test to prove we could vote. Remember ? No? Well this is your reminder. We don’t need your voting advice or speeches by neo liberals how important it is. Did your grandfather tell you stories from when he couldn’t vote? Mine did.

We are the ones who told you about voter ID laws. We started moral Monday’s as a response. We are always talking to you about the flaws in your republic.

Stop telling us to vote. You only take interest in us every 4 years. Black woman doubly so. We going to vote. Stop .

We have been the dispossessed guardians of “liberty” since we arrived as cargo on this continent.

Worry about white woman and men . That’s the demo watching a white ethno state be installed and are acting like nothing is happening. It’s my day off. have a good one!

We know voting is sacred. Every November my grandfather sat me on his knee and told me about going to ww2 as a volunteer and coming home from fighting fascism and not being able to vote afterwards. Maybe we get it Y’all
