African borders are only 135 years old as per the 1885 Berlin conference resolutions.

In 1885 European leaders met at the infamous Berlin Conference to divide Africa and arbitrarily draw up borders that exist to this day.

Representatives of 13 European states, the United States of America and the Ottoman Empire converged on Berlin at the invitation of German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck to divide up Africa among themselves "in accordance with international law."

Africans were not invited to the meeting. The strategy of divide and conquer was then set in motion & it runs like a well oiled machine with the aid of pseudo revolutionaries and pan africanists.

Today we isolate, bastardise and make an enemy out of everyone who dares speak against these imposed borders because we can't be seen to be rebelling against our colonial masters. We offer those who dare to speak out as sacrificial lambs on the altar of colonial divisions.

When Bob Marley says "Africa unite

How good and how pleasant it would be
Before God and man,
To see the unification of all Africans" we jam and sing along with no meaning or intent.

When Kwame Nkrumah says “The forces that unite us are intrinsic and greater than the superimposed influences that keep us apart.” or ‘The People Of Africa Are Crying For Unity’ we nod agreeably to his words of wisdom.

But if a certain Julius Malema was to quote “Africa is one continent, one people, and one nation”. by Kwame Nkrumah he would be labeled as a sellout who doesn't want to #PutSouthAfricaFirst

Perhaps if it was a different Julius who said
“African nationalism is meaningless, dangerous, anachronistic, if it is not, at the same time, pan-Africanism”. As said by Julius Mwalimu Nyerere we'd all call for the unity of Africa.

He goes on to say “Unity will not make us rich, but it can make it difficult for Africa and the African peoples to be disregarded and humiliated”. Maybe then we'd want to reconsider our stance & fight to be self determined, self reliant, self gorvening & by all means united.
