The four types of Superman fans. A thread.

The Polymath: Came in through a certain era and has their favorite mode of Superman but absorbed everything they could get their hands on & sees every version (even the ones they don't like) as part of an ongoing spectrum.

The Veteran: Came in through the 70s-90s. Has their preferred iterations of Superman and others they don't like but aren't militant towards fans of newer or older versions.

The Newbie: Came in through the 2000s/10s. Knows a lot about their preferred Superman(s). Tries to stay above the fandom drama and just like what they like but gets dragged into the shit by more aggressive fans.

The Superman Police: Usually a militant Silver Ager or fan of America's Dad Superman (but can be a newbie or veteran) who believe they have some ordained authority over the character and regularly lays down edicts about what can be done with him.
