I wasn’t going post this on main but this is one of the reason why I won’t be doing blacktober anymore.
YOU DON’T SAY THIS TO PEOPLE,
Blacktober is so beautiful seeing people who look like me in all my favorite franchises but it’s also been hard seeing my friends get harassed
Everyone wants to have an opinion on “blackwashing is wrong””why not just draw black characters” to answer BOTH these questions if you don’t get it it’s just Not for you. I’m tired of explaining why I want to be see in the media I enjoy and I’m tired telling people why it matters
People want to say why bring “race into it” “why are you putting black people in anime 😭😭” SHUT UP, WE ALL OF US are tired of having to literally have justify why we exist in ever facet of our lives. The point of blacktober is to bring joy to black people, point blank period
BUT its to show that any of these characters could be Black AND nothing would change. Literally showing that you can have a diverse cast with more representation EASILY and it not effect the story and that’s because just like other races, Black people just exist and are people
I’m sure you guys have seen how strong people are to get through all this and how we continue to push through the pain but im here to tell you THIS HURTS. We are only so strong and we are already tired, black people are more sensitive than you see or then people choice to believe
In short black people need to be respect like the people we are, do not talk to people like this and DO NOT talk to black people like this. We are people, we are hurting and we are tired. Even though I am not doing Blacktober please protect the artist that are
Support the artist who are making beautiful pieces in blacktober who are pouring their hearts into their art and are truly enjoying it but also support the black artist that don’t have it in them to put themselves out there out of far of backlash because of their art
