The Daubeney area of Hackney, East London was made glyphosate-free a year ago. In this single street, I counted 62 plant species of 26 families. 75% of British insects feed on a *single* plant family. Just imagine how much wildlife a street like this can support... #MoreThanWeeds
Do note that pavements are kept in good order to prevent plants from becoming a trip risk, and that litter appears to be regularly removed. With the right efforts, a glyphosate phase out is possible in many areas. @PAN_UK
We have to start seeing "wilder" street as green spaces, and potentially highly valuable habitats: trees offer food & shelter for birds, "weeds" provide food to herbivorous insects, who are then eaten by carnivorous insects and birds.
