We know that midwives also find these conversations tricky.
They’re under immense pressure to improve outcomes but have very little time or resources to do so. They also worry about getting the conversation wrong.

We need to urgently improve the conversation around weight and pregnancy.
Women and their midwives need access to accurate information that isn’t value-laden or makes judgements about women living with obesity and their ability to be good mothers.
