It’s time I tell my story - It’s time I tell the truth. It’s time, because as long as that office receives thousands of dollars for GBV campaigns as well as thousands in bribes from perpetrators WE WILL NOT GET ANYWHERE.

We can march & demonstrate & scream all we want - But as long as that woman works in office & handles majority of GBV cases in the country we will not get anywhere. She silences victims. Gaslights victims. Dettering them from opening cases. This is my experience.
A few months ago @slutshamewalk received a name &shame. We shared it. It went viral. The perpetrators father contacted me. Obviously protecting his son but at the end he asked me “how much” I was like “Excuse me Sir” and he continued “how much are they paying you I can double it”
I was stunned. I told him I do not receive any money for my activism work & he continued to bully me into retracting our story & apologizing. I refused. I then received a call from a lady working in the field telling me to hand everything over to her - her office will -
Counsel the victim & see to it that justice is served. Having worked with them before I was willing to co-operate because this woman shows a front to the society that she is on our side & that the safety of women is important to her -WAS I IN FOR A SUPRISE.
The victim went for “counseling” but it was infact just an entire session of bullying. Firstly the victim was told that @slutshamewalk is a dangerous organization & that we have apparently pushed two victims to commit suicide as we desperate for public attention.
She continued telling the victim that I, Venicia -am a fraud & that I haven’t even opened a case for my own sexual assault. She went on saying that the victim should stay away from us because we pressure victims into sharing stories & lie about legal & psychosocial support.
This lady then told the victim that what happened to her was NOT sexual assault & said that inappropriate touching does not account for sexual assault

She continued adding that the victim can open a case but that it would not be taken seriously & that it might make things worse as the perpetrator has “the right to retaliate if you wrongly accuse him” - THESE WERE HER OWN WORDS (i have recorded evidence)
The victim decided to completely retract everything & profusely apologized for wasting our time. BUT HER MOTHER DECIDED NO. We called around for more assistance & police got involved to. But we were stuck & couldn’t do anything because the victim does not want to co-operate.
Luckily we received more stories from other ladies who were also assaulted by this man (but the didn’t want to open cases) few days later the perpetrator father lo shows up at the victims house, HOW DID HE GET HER ADDRESS? The only person who had it was this lady

At this point I knew something fishy was going on. After a bit of digging it turns out this lady is close friends with the perpetrators father & she was working with him to let the victim retract her case. This lady was in regular contact with the perpetrators father - informing
Him of everything & the evidence we have. Including giving the victims address. He shows up at the house threatening the victim & issuing a letter of demand meant for @slutshamewalk. At this point it was evident that she was protecting the perpetrator.
I was threatened to stand back. To know my place. To stop contacting the victim. The victim’s mother started doubting me & just like that the case died. I was told to let this lady do her job because I am causing trouble. And just like that the case died.
It made me wonder- what happened to the 50+ victims I referred to her -whom were ready to open cases - but nothing came from it? I have databases of every individual I referred to her but she refuses to follow up?
