A little thread about language & #disability from your Auntie Ruth while you& #39;re having your morning coffee...
Language is a really important part of disability awareness & it& #39;s something that fascinates me everyday.

Nobody gets it right all the time (myself included) & we& #39;re all learning, but for me, the following terms need to be THROWN THE HELL OUT: "differently abled", "wheelchair-bound", "suffers from" &, if you come at me with "diff-ability", I promise I& #39;ll scream.
I AM DISABLED. I& #39;m not embarrassed by it, ashamed of it or scared of it. Identifying as #disabled is something that empowers me to help make this world more inclusive & accessible for us all.
"Disabled" is not a bad word. Please, never be afraid to use it.
Love, always.
