We did the math and tried to calculate if we can give BTOB a 100M poster on or before their 10th anniversary. And you know what? With the pace we have right now, I am so happy to announce that it& #39;ll only take us 675 weeks or 12.9452 years for Missing You to reach 100M https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😭" title="Laut schreiendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Laut schreiendes Gesicht">
And for Wow, as seen above, it& #39;ll take 122 weeks or 2.34 years to get it to 50M. At least they& #39;ll have a 50M music video before their 10th anniversary, I guess?
So where I am going with this? I don& #39;t know. I want to express my disappointment, I guess. Because I know we can do so much better than this. But we just decided not to because BTOB sells inspirations, not albums right? Sure. Their physical sales are stable-
-their digital points are strong. But those achievements are in South Korea. What are their achievements outside Korea? What did the international fandom give them? I don& #39;t think we have the right to demand anything when we cant even do our part in the simplest thing - views.
Look, I& #39;m not saying be a zombie streamer and completely abandon your responsibilities to stream. I also know not everybody has the capacity to stream, those factors aside, I know we can do better. If we all collectively just stream twice a day, the numbers would improve.
This is kpop, idk I became a kpop fan in 2018 but in another fandom. And everyone was so competitive, that& #39;s why I was(?) harsh when I ask people to stream, because literally if we dont reach the hourly mark everybody was angry, because we know we can do better.
Generally, kpop is competitive. I know we& #39;re not that kind of fandom but really? For a well known group, taking almost a year to reach 1M? And not to mention music shows also counts youtube streams for their points. So what& #39;s stopping us from doing better?
BTOB is not under appreciated, they& #39;re known. Most multis know who they are. Yes, most know them as that funny group but as fans we can turn that interest into a casual listener and a casual listener to a fan.
Kpop fans are number stans, 100M MVs pique interest, songs with more than 50M streams on spotify pique interest. Literally those numbers are PR for casual listeners.
I don& #39;t know. Where was I going with this? Lmao i& #39;ll probably get a lot of shit for this again but you know, I& #39;ll do my part. I& #39;ll do my best. Because I guess as a multi I understand how other people see groups based on their stats alone.
What are we lacking? I guess international promotion. But that& #39;s no excuse because groups with little to no promotions can be known overseas, and trust me. I know most kpop stans prefer flashy MVs and hard hitting songs but-
-one way or another they& #39;ll look for something comforting and soft, Something warm like a hug. And if they find BTOB, they& #39;ll never get out of it.
We already have the physicals and digitals strong in SK because kmels are doing such a great job and the general public likes them. If we manage to improve view count, man- we& #39;d attract so many new fans.
So there, sorry for the rant. I know I& #39;m annoying but there& #39;s honestly just so little a few consistent people who streams can do. Streaming is teamwork. It& #39;s the willingness to go out of your way, we can do it. We& #39;ve improved! We can get there :)
