One Stanley, a policeman at the Ughelli Police Area Command, Ughelli, Delta State, met his untimely death on Thursday as he was shot dead during the #EndSARS protest in the town.
Reports say the protest had began peacefully in the town until hoodlums hijacked the process and shot the police corporal who was on duty to ensure the protests were peaceful.
After the incident, shots rend the air as the police managed to scare protesters away so as to gain access to the corpse at the scene of the incident.
The protesters, according to one of the leaders, Ochuko, said they were on the street to protest the continued extra-judicial killings by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force in the state.
Till the end of the day, it was not possible to get a confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, about the incident.
