A thread to start highlighting all of the amazing events that different groups around the world are putting on for #GovAfterShock on 17 November! (And there's still time for others to put on their own events. If you want to, then check out our event guide https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/host-an-event/ )
As part of the @OECDgov @OPSIgov #GovAfterShock initiative, supported by @EU_Commission, we have invited people to hold events on 17 Nov to reflect on the current crisis & what it has revealed about what we need to leave behind, what we want to keep & what we should leave behind.
I'm biased, so will start with the Australian events. First we have @contentgroup who, along with many others now, is putting on a GovComms Festival to look at how the government communication landscape is changing. You can find out more on the event site https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/event/govcomms-festival/
They have also kindly put together a video pitch with @davidpembroke giving an overview of what the GovComms Festival is all about and how it fits with #GovAfterShock
A big shout out to superstar @paulickthiel for this event and all the others involved including @politics4tmrw @TheFuturesProj and Mindful Innovation. The agenda looks fantastic!
The Slovenian public administration is hosting 'Governance after shock' to reflect upon the experience of governance and operational functioning of both government and businesses in the COVID-19 crisis period https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/event/5046/
The good folks at @theRSAorg are putting on 'Art of Change', looking at the important question of how short-term upheaval can be converted to long-term progress, the role of social movements in making that happen and how to combine idealism and pragmatism https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/event/art-of-change/
We at @OPSIgov are also putting on an event on the 17th, a chance to share insights gained from using our soon to be launched Portfolio Exploration Tool to reflect upon the crisis and how your org is positioned with its current mix of innovative activities https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/event/innovation-portfolio-exploration/
The development of the tool has been a joint effort of @jamie_berryhill @pirettonurist @civiccatalyst and myself and we're excited to release it into the wild! If you sign up, you'll be able to try this online self-service tool yourself in the lead-up to #GovAfterShock.
From @demsoc we have 'Local responses to the Covid crisis: Drawing lessons for climate action', including looking at what we can learn from rapid decision making during the crisis for citizen participation at a fast pace (this discussion will be in French) https://gov-after-shock.oecd-opsi.org/event/climate-action/
