Thousands of casino sector jobs are at risk if they are forced to close their doors under any new #COVID19 restrictions brought in by @BorisJohnson. To avoid this nightmare scenario, they have offered to stop selling alcohol.

The economic contribution made by the UK's casinos is enormous. At a time of national crisis, the Government must not make it any harder for them to do business.

With revenues already massively down on 12 months ago, further restrictions on casinos could see venues across the country forced to close their doors for good - despite demonstrating to Public Health England that they are Covid-secure.

BGC boss @MichaelDugher: "Ministers need to understand that casinos are not pseudo-nightclubs or places where young people go to drink. Nevertheless, they are willing to reduce their risk levels even further by refusing to serve alcohol."
