Some say he's a dreamer, but he ain't the only one.

John Lennon would have turned 80 today.
He was born in Liverpool on Oct 9, 1940 in the middle of a German air raid.
His middle name is Winston - a dedic to Winston Churchill.
His singing career started as a choir boy at St Peters Church at Liverpool.
He started a band Quarrymen after his school Quarry Bank High School.
St. Peters Church is important in Beatles history as Sir @PaulMcCartney met John after a performance at this church.
And the last time they met was in New York on April 24, 1976. Sir Paul visited Lennon at his apartment where they watched Saturday Night Live.
They were offered $3000 to perform on SNL. They almost took a cab to go to the show, but decided against it.

Afsos!!
For all the amaze songs that he worked on, John Lennon was dissatisfied with all of Beatles' records.

Years after the band had split up, he revealed to former producer George Martin that he'd like to re-record every Beatles song. "Especially 'Strawberry Fields'"
Ever wondered where he got his glasses from? It was from the movie 'How I won the war' in 1966. John was given a pair of round "granny glasses" for his character, Private Gripweed - the specs stayed and became part of the Lennon image.
John Lennon made a comment in a 1966 interview that Beatles were more popular than Jesus and the Christian faith was declining to the extent that it might be outlasted by Rock Music.

Safe to say the Bible Belt in the US did not like his comments.
This is said to be John Lennon signing the autograph for one Mark David Chapman. Mark David Chapman would later gun down John Lennon and would remain at the scene reading The Catcher in the Rye.
A friend once asked Lennon what was the best lyric he ever wrote. "That's easy," replied Lennon, "All you need is love."
