Things I’ve learn on/ about social media:
1. It is mostly a toxic place with rare exceptions. Like what happened yesterday with the elderly couple. Such a beautiful story to share. Heartwarming.

2. Most people here pretend to be who they’re not. Hate what they love. Love what they hate. I’ve met people who absolutely detest animals but are pretending to be animal lovers here. Used to shock me earlier. Now I couldn’t care less.
Politics rules. You can have no agenda, no affiliation etc but one genuine/innocent comment will drag you in controversies and you will be abused and receive hate without understanding wtf just happened.
You have no friends here. You might think you do but unless you knew them off social media, they’re not your friends. We’ve all seen ample incidents of people being friends here & then personal chats being released where they were saying vile things about their so called friends.
A lot of people are here to please. Ooh! You have more followers than I do? I will agree With everything you say. Ooh, I have a crush on you. I will support your propaganda blindly- even though I was a different person till yesterday
It’s all give and take. Don’t for a second think otherwise. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.
There are very, very few genuine people on SM and you should count your blessings if you know any of them. I know and love a couple I met here. But yeah, it was just my luck. Probably won’t be the same for you
