Police have a ridiculously hard job. Especially these days. Here are a number of things that could help their situation.
1- Abolish revenue generation infractions (inspection stickers)
2- Keep public interactions at a minimum. Stay in the police station until you are called.

3- End the Drug War. Drugs are bad but the Drug War is worse. Yes, people make bad decisions on drugs. So charge them for those crimes.
4- Stop protecting blatantly bad cops. It’s not a good look. Sorry your buddy is a shitbag, but the department’s image is more important.

5- End quotas. You know they exist in many places even if it’s denied.
6- Be transparent. Body cams have an “on” button. Use it. It can protect your image if you are in the right.

8- There are bad people out there. Get them. Killers, thieves, rapists, pedos. All efforts should be placed here instead of blinker patrol.
